Shania Twain
She is the beautiful Revlon girl, who gave the face of country music a big-time makeover, as she became a multi-million dollar entertainment phenomenon of a magnitude that even blows her mind.
In fact, Twain tells "Extra" in a rare and candid interview that she is indeed a reluctant superstar. She says, "If I sit around and think about it, I get overwhelmed. If it weren't for my accountant, I wouldn't even know how much money I've got in the bank."
And the 37-year-old singer says it was her need for privacy that prompted her husband, producer Robert Lange, and their 2-year-old son, Eja, to flee the spotlight and live in rural Switzerland. Twain says, "People are more interested in what the cows are doing here."
But now, Twain has come down from the Alps and is back in Music City making her second NBC TV special. It is an intimate acoustic concert for an audience of just 300, which she hopes will show fans that she is still just a country girl at heart.
Twain says, "This is me sharing that side of me with them."
And she also shared it with us as she helped out with a little "Extra" Rumor Control, starting with her favorite. Twain says, "That I have a no-sex marriage. That is not true."
But what does her husband say? Twain says, "We both kind of laughed at that."
And then there is the one about Twain and the family now moving even farther away to New Zealand, a rumor that started when Twain made her recent visit to the South Pacific Island. She says, "That's a very serious rumor. But we’re not moving to New Zealand."
