Men at 40

Keanu Reeves, Russell Crowe, Robert Downey Jr., and Johnny Depp are all huge movie stars, but that is not all these wonder boys have in common. They are all in the big 40-zone.

But Depp doesn't seem too worried about his age. He says, "Thirty was much worse."

Reeves just turned 39, which you wouldn't know from those killer stunts he pulls off in "Matrix Revolutions." But Reeves has been watching the biological clock tick. He says, "It's weird, when you're 39, it starts to happen."

Keeping up with Halle Berry in "Gothika" was not hard for Robert Downey Jr., but at 38, he's already thinking ahead to that pesky middle-age spread. He says, "I don't look good when I'm overweight, I look like Sal Mineo."

Now clean and sober, mid-life means life in the slow lane. He says, "I'm not a kid anymore. I mean, I go around the corner too fast, and hubcaps fly off."

And who would think that reformed rebel Johnny Depp would ever turn 40 and settle down as a family man in France. But he says, "I'm really enjoying it. By the time you reach 40, you go, 'That isn't so bad.'"

And "Master and Commander" star Russell Crowe started a whole new life just before the big birthday. He finally married his long-time girlfriend, Danielle Spencer. He says, "I got married pretty late, 39. It was my 39th birthday actually."

And now that they are joining the ranks of Tom Cruise, Jim Carrey, and George Clooney, it seems like one big 40-something fraternity.
