Kim Delaney

She was a star on this season's breakout new hit. But now, just 10 episodes into her run on "CSI Miami," Kim Delaney has been written off the show.

“Extra” spoke to Delaney back in August and she could barely contain her excitement about the show. She even gave “Extra” a tour of her new set.

So what went wrong? CBS issued a statement, which reads in part, “The network, the production companies, and the producers jointly arrived at this decision upon recognizing that the character of Megan Donner was becoming less integral to the series as the season progressed."

But sources tell "Extra" that it may have had more to do with Delaney's personal problems. It's been a tough year for the 40-year old actress. In January, she was arrested for driving under the influence. And then in may, her show "Philly" was cancelled.

But one thing about Delaney, she's a survivor. She’s been working straight for more than 20 years, starting with "All My Children" in the early 1980s. And even though her future won't include "CSI Miami," Delaney is sure to turn this setback into a triumph.
