P. Diddy in Training

"Extra" hit the David Barton Gym in New York with P. Diddy for an exclusive look at his marathon work out. So why is Puff Daddy turning into buff daddy? Let’s just say Diddy is running the city, literally. "Extra" was with Diddy as he trained for November's New York City marathon, all for a good cause.

He says, "I'm trying to raise a million dollars for children’s charities in New York. That is the biggest motivating factor."

Oprah ran a similar marathon in just under four and a half hours. Sean "P. Diddy" Combs is hoping to do better than that. He says, "I am going to break her record."

And if he does beat her time, he hopes she'll match the money he raises. P. Diddy says, "I am going to be on ‘Oprah’ the day after the marathon to see if I broke her record and to see if we get a check from Oprah for charities. She is a very generous woman, so we want to see if we can get her to help."

Personal trainer Marc Jenkins is getting the hip-hop star in tip-top shape for the mega journey. Jenkins says, "We’re going for the upper back and lower back. It is intense, the workouts have been intense."

Diddy hopes all of his hard work pays off. The money raised will benefit children’s health and education charities for schools like one in Brooklyn, where he already donated supplies and spoke to students. He says, "We are trying to raise money to make sure you have the basic needs."
