'Cold Mountain'

There is already Oscar buzz about the epic Civil War love story "Cold Mountain," and Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman's emotional performance.

In the film, Jude Law plays a wounded confederate soldier trying to find his way home to his love. And Renée Zellweger is a drifter who helps Kidman attempt to save her farm.

"Extra" asked Nicole about the Oscar talk at the premiere of "The Human Stain." But the always-humble Kidman answered, "All I would like is for people to go see them."

There was great chemistry between Kidman, Zellweger, and Law, who have never worked together before. Premiere magazine's Christine Spines says they spent several months bonding on a remote mountaintop in Romania. Spines says, "The Internet cafe became the hangout for the entire crew because you couldn't always get cell phone reception."

Nicole and Renée got into their roles by spending grueling hours on a farm milking cows and doing chores. But the "Chicago" star told "Extra" that the time in Romania wasn't good for her love life. Zellweger says, "I have been on top of a Transylvania mountain, there is no room for that kind of stuff."

"Cold Mountain" hits theaters Christmas Day.
