'Elf'
It may not be dressed up as your traditional Christmas tale, but Will Ferrell is spreading some hilarious and twisted holiday magic, starring as "Elf," Santa’s 6-foot-3-inch helper.
Ferrell says, "I just really like playing earnest characters that don't know that they are spastic or loser misfits. So I knew I would be able to commit to this guy who is very wide-eyed and exuberant."
Actually in the movie, Ferrell, the giant green elf, is the son of tough guy James Caan. Caan says, "He's got guts. I mean he just goes at something 100 percent."
Not only did Ferrell keep everybody in the ultimate Christmas spirit, he provided quasi-Christmas rapping good enough to earn him the hip-hop title, Vanilla Killah.
And according to his on-screen girlfriend Zooey Deschanel, big Willie deserves big-time props. Zooey says, "Look at him, he's the man. He’s the elf. He's the man behind the elf."
Will Ferrell and "Elf" hit theaters November 7th.
