Halle Berry Splits From Husband
Halle Berry tried to stand by her man. At the Screen Actors Guild Awards last March, Berry defended her vows to "Extra" even after her husband admitted to cheating on her.
She said, "Marriage is about sticking together. When you stand up and you say you do, you say it for good and the bad and they don't say what the bad will be. So when the day comes, it is about sticking together."
But now, things have fallen apart between Halle Berry and Eric Benet. Neal Hersh, Halle's lawyer from her divorce from her first husband, David Justice, had no comment.
And while the official statement calls the split a separation, Extra has learned that the couple is headed for divorce, the split is amicable, and that there was a prenup.
Us Weekly's Mark Malkin says the pair made a valiant effort to save the marriage. He says, "When news came that Halle and Eric split, I don’t think anyone was really surprised. Halle proclaimed that Eric was the love of her life and that all she really wanted was kids. I think Halle really wanted Eric to be the father."
It was Benet standing by his wife's side when Halle was involved in a hit and run accident in Los Angeles. Halle even adopted Benet's 11-year-old daughter India, which means divorce or not, Halle is her legal mother.
And now there is a new twist. Malkin says, "There are rumors that Halle Berry has hooked up with Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit."
A new music video proves there is chemistry between the rocker and the Oscar-winning actress as they get up close and personal. And after shooting "Behind Blue Eyes," Durst began singing Halle's praises.
Malkin says, "Fred has come out in the press and said he bonded with Halle like no other woman. Does this mean they're an item? I’m sure we'll find out soon."
Meanwhile, Berry is keeping busy and staying sexy shooting her next film "Catwoman" in Vancouver. But it looks like her newest role will be Halle Berry on her own.
