Windows of Hope
Friday October 12, 2001

Good food, good friends and good company all came together for a good cause. Chef Tom Valenti, owner of Ouest, helped launch the Windows of Hope family relief fund to support the families of food service employees who worked in the towers. At least 5000 eateries worldwide are pledging ten percent of Thursdays proceeds.

“Survivor” winner Tina Wessen was in town with the two other castaways, for the premiere of “Survivor 3.”

Once word got out so did the stars, we caught up with Lucy Arnaz at Fresco in New York. She says, “I think this is an unusually generous thing for posh restaurants in New York to give up a percentage of gross that they make.”

Actor Danny Aiello was managing for charity at Chachinos restaurant, the very same place his new movie was shot. He says, “I was the owner of the place and we shot it right here at Chachino. It’s a great restaurant, it’s the kind of food I like.”

Molly Ringwald dined out so Pastis restaurant would dish out some money. She got away from her Off-Broadway play “Tic Tic Boom” and booked a table. Molly says, “It’s a great cause. I think everybody should come out and eat something.”
