Emeril
Tuesday October 9, 2001

Take one very fresh New Orleans chef, fold in a cast of well-seasoned pros, add a dash of a dashing co-star and you have the recipe for NBC’s delicious new sitcom, “Emeril,” starring Emeril Legasse. Legasse says of his new show, “It's been a lot of fun. Everyone in the cast is really into food.”

“Emeril” is a show about a chef with his own TV show. In other words it's a show about Emeril. Co-star Robert Urich says, “People are going to be so shocked when they see how good he is.”

Emeril and Urich, who himself is an amateur chef, hit it off from the very beginning. Emeril says, “I had sent him all my cookbooks and then we have a phone conversation and it was like girlfriends at camp."

Soon they were trading acting tips for cooking hints. Now everyone on the show is getting into the food thing, like Sherri Shepherd. She says, “My clothes are getting tighter and there are things that are hanging.”

One of the other co-stars, Lisa Ann Walter, says, “If I have a restaurant it's going to be called, ‘Shut Up and Eat.’”

And if the cooking gods are kind, we'll be talking about Emeril all season long.
