James Woods Questioned by FBI
Monday October 8, 2001

The world was in a state of shock as we woke up to the tragedies of September 11th, but the attacks were especially chilling for actor James Woods. He was on the exact same flight from Boston just one month before the ill-fated flight.

Woods was sitting in first class when he noticed four suspicious men, they neither talked nor ate, they just sat motionless. Woods was so uneasy, he reported the strange behaviors to airport authorities. They did nothing, until now.

Woods is working with the FBI on the case, something he can’t comment on, but he's happy to speak about two of his latest roles. One, as Drew Barrymore's worrisome dad in the movie "Riding in Cars with Boys." The other is a role he is especially proud of: pitching in for America's relief effort. He says, “I have been amazed to see that my greatest dream has come true which is to see the American public be everything I imagined this country to be.”

Woods was one of the first celebrities to jump at the chance to answer phones during the star-studded telethon “America: Tribute to Heroes.” He says, “On the funnier side, I was talking to this lady for quite a while, and I said so we really appreciate it here. And she said, ‘And whom am I speaking to?’ I said, ‘Jack Nicholson.’”

In light of the recent attacks, Woods believes his new movie has an important message for America. He says, “This film deals with the best of us as people who love our family, and by extension right now we think of family as sort of the whole country.”

James is confident the American family is ready to pull together for the tough times ahead.
