Response

The
fighter jets are flying, the battle ships are
sailing, and American soldiers are bidding farewell
to their loved ones. But where they're going,
and exactly what they'll do, remains top secret.
All they know for sure is that the Commander in
Chief wants Osama bin Laden dead or alive.

A former British secret agent believes the suspense alone might already be killing bin Laden. Tom Carew says, “He knows it's coming, but he doesn't know when."
Carew worked as a military spy for the elite Special Air Services in Afghanistan during the Russian invasion. He goes inside the Taliban and the mind of bin Laden in his book "Jihad." He says, “They're all hiding around there waiting for the American army to come charging in."
Carew says that would just be playing into the enemy's
hands, and the U.S. knows it. Carew says, “Luckily we've
got some people in power in the right places saying we're
not going to play your game."
He says they're making the rules of engagement. “The best way to catch a terrorist is to keep him uncertain. When he's uncertain he'll make mistakes."
Then, Carew says, the U.S. will make bin Laden pay. “He's got to make a move some day. Just keep squeezing, and squeezing, and squeezing, and when the fox makes a move, he drops He doesn't know if it'll be a cruise missile in his letter box. or someone jumps out of the ground and says, ‘Boom, gotcha!’"
It’s not hard to see that Carew is confident that U.S.
forces will eventually bring their Commander in Chief
the head of Osama bin Laden. |
