Jennifer Lopez Weds
Monday October 1, 2001

The bride was a vision in white and the groom was dancing on air. It was a traditional wedding for a hip-hop couple. Jennifer Lopez met Cris Judd just last year, but the backup dancer in her videos like "I’m Real" soon became Jennifer’s main man.

On Saturday, the two tied the knot at a private mansion in Calabasas, California, just outside Los Angeles. It was a top-secret affair with tight security. About 170 guests were shuttled in after parking at a nearby high school, while metal detectors screened photographers and caterers.

The night before, a happy Jennifer and Cris showed up in a Jaguar for the rehearsal dinner. It was held at Dominic's restaurant in Beverly Hills, a low profile place by Hollywood standards. All in all, it was a low-key affair with only family and close friends.

It was the same close-knit clan at the wedding. Jennifer had a childhood friend from New York as her maid of honor and her manager was Judd's best man. Her dress was pure Valentino.

Eric Wilson of Women's Wear Daily told “Extra” that in August, Lopez asked Valentino to make a princess like dress, but with a plunging neckline and back. Wilson is not surprised the sexy Lopez went traditional. He says, “It was a private affair and she was dressing for her own taste rather than public.

The marriage comes just seven months after Jennifer’s breakup with Sean “Puffy” Combs who reportedly spent the weekend in New York setting up programs to help victims of the World Trade Center attacks.

It looks like the star of "The Wedding Planner" has pulled off her own real life fairy tale.
