'American Dreams'
Flip haircuts, pleated skirts, and dancing teens - for the cast of "American Dreams," the 1960's never sounded so fresh. Gail O'Grady, Joey Lawrence, Tom Verica, and newcomer Brittany Snow star in the new NBC show executive produced by Dick Clark.
It's a drama about a family, set during a more innocent time in America. And of course, "American Bandstand" is an important backdrop. Sixteen-year-old Brittany Snow had never even seen Clark’s most famous show before landing the lead. She says, "When I walked in, it was exactly how I had seen it on the tape, so I was like freaking out!"
Another young up-and-comer, pop princess Michelle Branch, plays sixties songbird Lesley Gore. She says, "My favorite music comes from the eras that ‘American Bandstand’ existed in."
So pull out your poodle skirts, slip on those bobby socks, and get ready to go retro.
