InStyle Fashion Picks

Movie star hair and lots of glamour everywhere, InStyle magazine's fashion features director Hal Rubenstein is running down his picks for the night's best looks. For evening gowns, Hal says color is king. He says, "It looked like a great stack of Crayola crayons coming down the red carpet."

For the cast with class, Jennifer Aniston and her friends walked away winners of trophies and good taste. Hal says, "Jennifer Aniston looked like a winner, it was that simple. She and Brad are a stunning couple. They looked the way young stars should look."

"Alias" star Jennifer Garner led the runway's beige brigade. Hal says, "Jennifer Garner looks sensational. There's something special about this creature."

For hair, Hal says glamour girls Laura Linney, Debra Messing, and Kristin Davis were the evening’s best. Hal says of Davis, "If this was the 30's, she'd be right up next to Rita Hayworth. It all works perfectly for her, she looks sensational."

Kristin's co-star Kim Cattrall set the gold standard for women everywhere. Hal says, "Kim Cattrall is word to all women over 40 that there is no excuse not to look great cause she certainly does."

And while HBO's Rachel Griffiths didn't take home a trophy, she walked away as Hal's pick for red carpet winner. Hal says, "I think this is the best Rachel Griffiths has looked at an awards show. I think she had on the best dress of the night."

This "Six Feet Under" star came out on top.
