'Life With Bonnie'
She’s a wife, mother, and host of a local talk show called, "Morning Chicago." Welcome to "Life With Bonnie," the ingenious new ABC family series from funny lady Bonnie Hunt. She says, "We kind of let the cameras roll and see what happens."
With a gifted cast of comedic actors led by David Alan Grier, who plays Bonnie's stressed out producer, anything does happen during the talk show segments. They're unscripted and the guests are often real. And look for some of Bonnie's famous friends like David Duchovny to guest star on her fictitious talk show. Bonnie says, "There is really, truly a whole other side of him that you haven't seen."
Bonnie says the idea for "Life With Bonnie" came while she contemplated becoming a real talk show host. She says, "I was in talks to take over Rosie O’Donnell’s job. They’d come to me and we talked about it."
But Bonnie, who also writes, executive produces, and directs episodes, says writing and comedy are her calling. She says, "I like to see the play unfold, the story come to life, and if I were to do a talk show, every single day I would have to give up that aspect of my career that I love so much."
A career woman with a chaotic family life, the balancing act that may make "Life With Bonnie" this season's breakout hit.
