Ryan Phillippe
He plays the superficial older brother in the
quirky new film about family dysfunction, "Igby Goes
Down." But in real life, Ryan Phillippe is one of Hollywood’s
hottest young actors with a very functioning family. Ryan
says, "Our relationship and our home life is the same
as anyone else’s in terms of it's complications and things
like that."
But it is very different in ways, when your wife is rapidly rising star Reese Witherspoon. He says, "It's a little bit different for me right now because she has become, over the past year or so, America’s sweetheart."
The couple met playing lovers in 1999's "Cruel Intentions." The 26-year-old Reese, best known for her hit "Legally Blonde," now commands up to $8 million per picture. And 28-year-old Ryan, who broke out in "Studio 54," recently received critical praise for "Gosford Park."
Married for three years with a three-year-old daughter Ava, fame and fortune make Ryan and Reese Hollywood’s power couple of the moment. Both agree there's no such thing as a perfect Hollywood marriage. Reese says, "It's not like we're just sort of lounging around the pool, drinking Mai Tais all day. My husband and I work on it everyday."
