Only "Extra" was with "American Idol" Kelly Clarkson as she was dolled up into divahood - from the makeup chair, to the surprise good luck phone call from Simon Cowell, to the glamorous Gucci gown. It was all about style for "A Moment Like This."
Prior to the big award ceremony, she said, "I'm not nervous about the award, I'm nervous about the shoes."
Kelly managed to successfully navigate the walk to the limo, with her brother Jason as her date.
On the way, Kelly talked about her short road to superstardom. Just a year ago, "Idol" was down to its final two when Kelly and Justin Guarini presented at the VMAs. Now she's at the top of the charts with a number one album and she is up for three nominations.
She says, "This year has been totally crazy, and I still haven't stopped."
Last stop, Radio City, where it became clear Kelly has arrived.
