Randy Jackson
It's the ultimate weight debate as nasty Simon Cowell dresses down the slimming down of the big dog, "American Idol" judge Randy Jackson. Simon says, "It's like saying a hill is smaller than a mountain. A hill is still big."
"Extra" went to get the skinny on the new Randy. After gastric bypass surgery on July 17th, Randy is watching his weight drop and his confidence soar.
Randy's procedure is the same surgery that Al Roker underwent a year ago. And while the weatherman shed nearly 100 pounds in eight months, will the same apply to Jackson when "American Idol 3" kicks off in January? Randy says, "I don’t know, but I’ll still be America’s teddy bear."
Randy says he can't wait for the third installment of "Idol." He says, "I expect to see plenty of freaks and a lot of geeks, some marginally talented people and a few great ones."
Speaking of great ones, the laugh will be on Simon next season when Randy brings his own guests to "Extra's" breakfast at Simon's when the "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy" guys make over Mr. Cowell. But Randy says, "Don’t tell Simon, don’t tell him at all."
And with the new slim shady sitting a seat away, Simon may have a run for his money. Randy says, "Maybe I'll give him a run just to show him who is boss in the town."
