Chris Rock
It's one of music's biggest parties of the year, and Chris Rock is the man in the center of the circus. He says, "I liked the show so much last year that I was sitting at home going, ‘I should've hosted.’"
Hosting the VMAs for the third time, Chris told "Extra" that he will be anything but charming when it comes to cracking on celebrities. He says, "Nobody is off limits. If you bring your kids, I’ll probably be nice to you."
Chris is promoting the VMAs with some magical on-air promos for the show where he addresses some of Washington’s most powerful people. But don't be fooled; Chris wasn't really in those high-level meetings at Capitol Hill, but he did let "Extra" in on a top secret.
He says, "I've actually hung out with Colin Powell before in real life. We saw a Janet Jackson concert. Colin Powell is like the coolest guy you want to meet when he's not bombing countries."
"Extra" also caught one of the hottest bands in the world, Coldplay, rehearsing for their VMA performance. And they’re ready to go. Coldplay front man Chris Martin says, "We’re looking forward to making everyone really depressing by playing a really sad ballad."
With everyone wondering if Martin will bring his leading lady Gwyneth Paltrow to the show, he kept that secret under wraps. He says, "It’s been going so well. Thanks."
