Marilu Henner
She was the cabbie who put the "fare" in "the fair sex," a striking redhead who became a parking-garage pin-up in the classic sitcom. "Taxi."
Exactly 25 years after "Taxi" hit the road, Marilu Henner still looks great, and she says she feels even better than she did when she first played Elaine Nardo. She says, "I'm in much, much, much better health."
She puts it all down to what she calls Total Health Makeover, a regimen that involves losing dairy, meat, caffeine , and chemical additives from your diet. It's inspired best-selling books and an ongoing, worldwide Internet program. She says, "When I first started on ‘Taxi,’ I was a smoker, I ate too much meat, too many dairy products, and too much sugar. I feel like a completely different person than I did 25 years ago."
Marilu reunited with the old "Taxi" cast for the Jim Carrey movie, "Man in the Moon." So we asked her if she'd be interested in reviving the seventies sitcom. She says, "I'll revisit the seventies, I don't care. I would do it in a second. Are you kidding?"
Back when she was driving a cab, Marilu never needed directions. These days, however, she's a big fan of the roadmap, a free Internet self-help program called "Roadmap To Change."
The plan aims to help people achieve goals in five areas: weight loss, finances, physical fitness, career, and family. She says, "You have to set up your environment to win. You have to make sure that you feel good about what you're doing."
