'Meet the Marks'
It's a real house, tucked in a real neighborhood. But there's something really different about this reality show. You see, the guest star has no idea they're being seen. "Meet the Marks" is a new show on Fox blending hidden cameras, scripted sitcom, and unscripted drama.
Joe O’Connor is part of the cast of improv actors who welcomes an unsuspecting person -or the "mark" - into TV land.
Take the real life hairdresser who thinks he's doing the bride's hair, until he gets tangled up in a messy scene when he witnesses a lip lock between the groom and another woman.
Will the unsuspecting guy tell the bride to be or the keep the secret to himself? Kaitlin Olson, who plays the daughter, says what results is 22 minutes of panic. She says, "Even though it's funny and we know it's going to turn out funny, you feel so bad for them because there's this look of, ‘Oh my God!’"
From the kitchen to the closets, 18 cameras are hidden around the house. And while actors work off an outline, no one knows just how everything will play out. Despite this mark keeping quiet about that kiss, this wedding was headed for one hairy ending. But as always, the ultimate ending is a happy one.
