Caroline Rhea
With a high five and a hug, Rosie O’Donnell officially passed her talk show torch to comedian Caroline Rhea in New York last night.
Rhea is moving into Rosie's old studio to host
"The Caroline Rhea Show," which launches live September
2nd. Caroline says, "I'm just excited because I’ve wanted
to do this my whole life and now it's happening."
Caroline is best known for her role on the sitcom "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch." But her big talk show break came last year when she was asked to fill in for Rosie who was sick with a staf infection. By all accounts, Caroline was bewitching and she became Rosie's first and only choice as her permanent replacement.
Last night, when the shorthaired and relaxed Rosie wasn't teaching Caroline how to pose politely for photographers, she was all but guaranteeing her successor's success. Rosie says, "I think she's got everything that it takes. She's compassionate, she loves people, she loves kids, she's funny as anything, and she has a huge heart."
