Leeann Tweeden in Mexico
Less than an hour from Mexico City, nestled in the mountains of central Mexico, sits the undiscovered jewel of the country, Zacatecas.
Founded by Spaniards in 1546, Zacatecas is still the biggest silver producer of precious metal in Mexico. Leeann Tweeden visited one old mine that's now a raging disco. Tweeden says, "We have the best view of the city up here in the cable car and we're pretty high up so don't look down, just look out."
But one of the most gorgeous landmarks in Zacatecas is the Quinta Real. The hotel is architecturally stunning and built on the oldest bullring in North America. The last bullfight was in 1975, that's when some clever developers turned it into a gorgeous five-star hotel. You can stroll the tunnels where bulls used to run and have a drink in the cozy bar, formerly the bull corral. Or pamper yourself in the luxurious rooms; the presidential suite will cost you $860 during peak season.
And what could be more romantic than a private dinner in the center of the stone relic.
This dream date is the perfect finale to a Dream Life getaway.
