Jennifer Beals
Jennifer Lopez does her best "Flashdance" impression in her video for "I’m Glad." But what does the real "Flashdancer" think about Jennifer's retro remake? Jennifer Beals says, "It's really sweet to see it again and not have to watch myself."
It turns out that Jennifer Beals nearly had a cameo in the video at the request of director David La Chapelle. Beals says, "I was told that he wanted me to be in the video, and I really wanted to, but I was working at the time so I couldn't do it."
In the 20 years since welding her place in Hollywood history, Beals has become a top star in the independent film world. Now she's turning heads once again, this time in Showtime’s edgy new series, "The L Word." Beals says, "People will look at this show and say it's like if some of the gals in ‘Sex and the City’ had actually slept with each other."
In the series, Beals plays a lesbian living and loving in Los
Angeles. She says, "I don't think you can be an actor in
the Hollywood community and not have exposure to the gay community.
I think the show is important that it can be very helpful in
breaking down stereotypes."
