Rob Lowe
He has walked out of the White House and into
"The Lyon's Den." Rob Lowe got a true hero's welcome
when he dropped in at Hollywood and Highland to talk about
his new NBC drama series and tell for the first time why he
really quit his role as White House staffer Sam Seaborn in
"The West Wing."
"What I had was great," Rob says. "But it wasn't enough."
And Rob doesn't just mean from a creative point of view. He says, "Here's what happened. The storylines got fewer and fewer for my character. And then when they gave everyone else a raise and not me. I might have only played a guy who went to Harvard, but I’m not stupid. I figured it out."
Now the actor finds himself starring as an idealistic young attorney fighting for truth and justice in "The Lyon's Den" as well as playing executive producer for the first time. He says, "I'm working hard though. I mean being an executive producer is a never-ending education."
But it’s one from which Rob hopes to graduate with honors when "The Lyon's Den" bares its claws in the upcoming fall battle.
