'Monk'
Monk is searching out the naked truth in an art studio in the second season of "Monk," the award winning USA network detective show. Our neurotic hero finds this assignment too revealing.
Tony Shalhoub won a Golden Globe for his convincing portrayal of the spacey sleuth.
He tells "Extra" that he took the part at the urging of his manager and wife. He says, "I think that they all sensed that there were more similarities to the part than I first wanted to cop to."
Monk has a germ phobia and he's also afraid of heights. Shalhoub says, "People ask me if I’m like this character. I don’t think I’m so much like Monk. Monk is so extreme. He's a hero. He's an unlikely hero, but he's a hero nonetheless. He's very, very good at his job."
And that's a very good reason to watch "Monk" this season on USA.
