Skin Care Secrets
Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman, and Halle Berry all have smooth, radiant skin. There is lots you can do to get their luminous look and it's never too early to start.
Dermatologist Karen Grossman says maintaining great skin takes work at every age.
Twenty something stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Hudson have flawless skin.
If you want their gorgeous glow, stay out of the sun and stop smoking. Grossman says, "The number one reason for wrinkles is sun exposure. Less sun, less wrinkles."
The 30’s look beautiful on Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta Jones. But for the rest of us, that's when we notice the first signs of aging. Grossman says, "You start to get things like brown spots, maybe some broken blood vessels on your face."
To slow the hands of time, use creams containing retinols. They build collagen and reduce the appearance of fine lines. Botox injections also fade fine lines and bleaching creams banish brown spots.
Rene Russo and Sela Ward look fabulous in their 40’s, but for the rest of us this is the time skin begins to sag. Grossman says, "Starting in your 40’s you want to be a little more aggressive."
Cool lasers can get rid of deeper lines. Firming creams containing copper promote collagen growth and tighten your skin temporarily.
Victoria Principal and Susan Sarandon have hit their 50’s and still look fine. But for the rest of us, our skin has lost elasticity and needs tightening. Grossman says, "A lot of women, to look best in their 50’s to look their best, really need some surgery."
Karen suggests looking into the latest face-lift techniques. But she warns that even good surgery lasts only ten years.
If you take care of your skin at every age, you too can look sensational at any age.
