Tyler Hoechlin

Critics are already saying Tom Hanks and Paul Newman's "Road to Perdition" will lead them back to the Oscars. But there's also a fresh face that could be along for the ride.

Fourteen-year-old newcomer Tyler Hoechlin landed the role of a lifetime starring as Tom Hanks son in the 1930's mob drama by accident, thanks to his little brother. He says, "He was actually originally called in and I just kind of went along for the ride."

Now as he's about to enter his freshman year and his friends are on summer vacation, this kid from Corona, California is arriving in limos at movie premieres to work the press lines side by side with legends. He says, "We were in the limo and I was sitting there, we were getting out. I saw everybody there and I was like. ‘Oh my gosh, I’m not getting out of the car.’"

And while Tyler hasn't taken to all this movie star stuff yet, Newman says the kid's handling it like an old pro. Newman says, "He’s going to grow up to be something too. I don’t know what he's going to do, but whatever it is, he’s going to be good at it."
