Bill Clinton
He's a political powerhouse, a charismatic communicator, and this popular ex-president will likely be the next TV talk show titan. Clinton's personal attorney Robert Barnett says, "He's received dozens and dozens of offers."
In an interview with "Extra," Barnett say he believes there will be a Bill Clinton show. He says, "When the time is right, it'll be announced."
Even he is shocked by the number of multi-million dollar deals being proposed not only by broadcast outlets, but also by radio, Internet, and print organizations all over the world. Barnett says, "Whether people agree with him or not, they want to hear what he has to say."
That includes some Hollywood heavyweights like the head of "The West Wing." Martin Sheen says, "He hosted the country and did a brilliant job I might say."
As "Extra" first reported in May, Clinton has already held secret talk show talks with NBC's top brass. Entertainment president Jeff Zucker says, "I think there's no doubt he'd be a great talk show host."
Zucker and newsman Tom Brokaw both agree Bill would bring huge ratings, but Brokaw says, "I'll believe it when I see it."
And while there is no doubt that Clinton has an uncanny ability to captivate audiences and attack hard-hitting issues, can he commit to daily or even weekly work over the long haul? Barnett says, "He'll stay, he'll work, he'll get the job done."
But it will probably be awhile before any deal is done. Clinton is busy completing his memoirs due out next year. In the meantime, broadcasters and the public will keep begging for Bill. And whether it's daytime, primetime, or late night, it looks like the former president is preparing for a new term in the spotlight.
