Urban Day Spa

Whether it’s running around the city or speeding through the subway, actress Stephanie March from “Law & Order: SVU” never slows down. When you can't check out of your busy city life, the hot new thing to do is check into an urban spa.

The Oasis on Park Day Spa is just what the doctor ordered. A quick change into a comfy robe kicks off Stephanie’s dream getaway. After a little rest, it’s off to the unique Thai massage room; sort of the lazy man’s yoga. Stephanie says, “You don't do anything. He's really manipulating you. There is a certain weightlessness to it that’s really unusual and very exceptional.”

After that, it’s time for a soothing hand massage at the Robert Stuart salon located in the spa. And what is a day at the spa without a hot lava stone massage.

A warm mud wrap is next on the menu: first the mud and then the wrap in a Mylar blanket. It’s great for detoxifying and rejuvenating. “They let you marinate for about 20 minutes and then they rinse you off,” Stephanie says.

Co-owner Bruce Schoenberg says Oasis is a city escape in the heart of the city. He says, “Great skin care, massage therapy, and day spa services in a luxurious environment with no attitude.”

So after a break from reality, how does Stephanie feel? She says, “Oh it was my Dream Life day. It was fantastic. I left feeling like a kinder, gentler Stephanie.”

Must have been all that pampering. It's a Dream Life we could all use.
