Burt Reynolds
Burt Reynolds is back in the saddle, rustlin' up a black hat and six-shooter to play the heavy in the Hallmark channel's upcoming TV movie, "Johnson County War." He says, "It's great fun to play the bad guy. Plus, you get to wear the black outfit."
The macho veteran of more than 100 films and television shows, sat down with "Extra" for a candid interview opening up about his private life.
After his highly publicized and bitter breakup from second wife, Loni Anderson, in 1993, the twice-divorced star popped the question to Pam Seals in 1998, but they have yet to tie the knot. Burt says, "Every time she says, ‘When are we getting married?’ I give her another engagement ring. It's cost me a fortune."
Burt admits he won't be walking down the aisle anytime soon. He says, "I'm not a big fan of doing something that I’m not very good at, so I’m not in a hurry to get married."
But he'll have plenty of opportunity to change his mind. Burt's next stop is the quickie wedding capital of the world: Las Vegas. Burt is taking his one-man show to Sin City to set the record straight about his life in the spotlight with "An Evening with Burt Reynolds."
He gave us a preview, sharing three surprising things you might not know about him. First, he serves as a guest lecturer at his alma mater, Florida State. Secondly, Burt passed on Jack Nicholson’s Oscar winning role in "Terms of Endearment" and even said no to playing James Bond in the 70s. Lastly, Burt says, "I read two, three books a week. That probably surprises some people cause I think they think I have a coloring book."
