Richard Botto
Fancy cars, fast women, a fabulous home, and a cutting edge men’s magazine; this Italian stallion has it all. He is 33-year-old entrepreneur and Razor magazine publisher Richard Botto. He invited "Extra" to Razor's R-rated pajama party in the Arizona desert.
Botto gave us an exclusive tour of his playboy paradise with its golf course views, sparkling pool, and desert dunes for miles.
Inside the 6,000 square foot desert mansion, the European feel is no mirage. He says, "This is one of my favorite parts of the house. The arched ceilings and high columns just reminded me of old time Italy."
The stately columns and cathedral ceilings even flow into the master suite and marble bathroom. It’s a perfect bachelor pad for this Razor man who's getting an edge on the competition.
Razor, which targets 20 to 40 year old professionals, is one of the fastest growing men's magazines on the market. Botto says, "We're trying to be sort of like what Playboy was back in the 60's, minus the nudity."
Botto is even throwing a series of Playboy-esque pajama parties to make his mark as the next Hugh Hefner. He hopes the after dark parties will set the magazine apart from the FHM's and Maxim's. Botto says, "We wanted to be the definitive men's lifestyle magazine of the new millennium."
That's why Razor cuts through tough issues and take a stand on its stories. And even though Botto's magazine is headquartered in the middle of the Arizona desert, this playboy plans to create a financial empire in his oasis.
