Britney Spears, Alicia Keys, Cher, Sheryl Crow, Ozzy, Tom Petty, and Eminem - it's a summer of song and "Extra" is tuning in to the seasons hot tickets.
It's your last chance to see Cher live. The diva is on the road in her final world tour. What's old is new again. The Who, Bob Dylan, and The Eagles take flight. Even America’s favorite TV father, Ozzy Osbourne, rocks again, headlining the four-month long mega heavy metal tour, Ozzfest.
As co-CEO of Clear Channel Music, Dave Lucas is the man behind much of this summer's music, from Ozzfest and Cher to Dave Matthews, Lenny Kravitz and Marc Anthony.
But the show getting the biggest rap this summer is the Eminem show. The raunchy rapper returns with music that sold 1.3 million CDs in its first week out. Eminem made the cover of the Rolling Stone for being the ruling rapper in a summer of concerts, says the magazine's Nathan Brackett. He says, "The big solo tours this year are Eminem, John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, Tom Petty, and Kid Rock."
Another key concert this summer is Alicia Keys. David Bowie will also rock this summer, keeping surprising company. One of the more eclectic tours is the Area Two tour with Moby, Busta Rhymes, and David Bowie.
So, from pop to R&B to rap, lots of stars are ushering in what's shaping up to be a summer of rock.
