A One-Man Conglomerate
He rocked the park in front of thousands of fans
Friday morning on "Good Morning America," but R&B
sensation Usher far more than just a singer -- he's a producer,
an actor and that's just for starters.
With his new debit MasterCard, Usher is the
entrepreneur who can take you everywhere you want to be. "You
can have me by your side at all times," the singer told
us. "This is your key to Usher-World."
But having Usher in your pocket is just the tip of the iceberg for this one-man conglomerate. His latest album sold a staggering 1.1 million copies its first week, three of his songs were on the top 10 list at the same time and one of his tunes owned the top spot for 20 straight weeks -- all adding up to 7.5 million CDs sold. And that's just his music division.
"This must be my year, huh," he admitted. "Pretty soon they're just going to call me Mr. Do-It-All."
So what's next on his schedule? "You can expect me to be back on the big screen at the top of next year."
That's right, Usher will not only star in, but also executive
produce a film for MTV. And he recently told us that, one day,
he hopes to share the big screen with Oscar-winner Denzel Washington.
"You never know," Usher said. "You got to keep
your fingers crossed and your ears open."
With five Video Music Award nominations, a clothing line in
the works and an emerging record label, Usher is without a doubt
much more than a one-note act. "I am a business man first,"
he insisted. "Although entertainment has been a cornerstone
of it, I'm a businessman."
He's certainly all business. He even developed his own catch line for his new MasterCard: "You gotta have one."
