Democrat Stars Shine at Convention
The Creative Coalition party at Louis' Boston
brought out a slew of stars Wednesday night. Billy Baldwin,
Chris Cooper and "Arrested Development's" Jason
Bateman were a few of the celebs we spotted soaking in the
political talk.
And while Bateman admitted he could never see himself running for office, insisting, "I have too many skeletons in my closet," we can't be so sure about another huge star: Ben Affleck.
Affleck has created quite a stir at the Democratic Convention, throwing his support avidly behind Presidential Candidate John Kerry and making the talk show rounds. Even the impossible-to-please Bill O'Reilly told us the actor held his on own on "The Spin Factor." "Affleck was on with me last night and he did very well," O'Reilly insisted.
The beautiful Alyssa Milano added about her fellow actor: "I think Ben Affleck is really b****y for coming out here and letting his opinions be heard."
Not surprisingly, we again ran into Affleck at Hillary Clinton's luncheon, but the star did seemed surprised when we told him of "Hardball's" Chris Matthews calling him a genius. "There's no accounting for taste," Affleck joked.
At the Gotham magazine party, former candidate Al Sharpton was
on hand as stars like Steve Buscemi and Alec Baldwin took the
stage. And back at the convention hall, P. Diddy stopped by
to promote his new "Vote or Die" campaign and make
one thing clear: he wants people to vote -- but not for him:
"You don't want me to be president, trust me."
Stay tuned to "Extra" as we continue to report all the latest happenings and star sightings at the Democratic National Convention.
