Rumor Control: King Size
For the rich and famous, rumors come with the
territory, so "Extra's"here to pull the truth out
of the latest celebrity gossip.
"CSI's" George Eads
got the boot from CBS when he failed to appear for the start
of production last week. So was the star holding out for more
bucks?
No -- Eads claims he just overslept three and half hours. The star hopes the misunderstanding can be resolved soon.
There's a new man is Lisa Marie Presley's life
-- musician Michael Lockwood. The couple met
last year when he joined her on tour. But now, after three marriages,
is Elvis's daughter ready to make Lockwood the fourth?
No -- Presley's reps tell "Extra" she has no plans
to remarry.
Across the pond, Gwyneth Paltrow gave birth
to her daughter, Apple, in London in May. So does the actress
plan to make the UK her permanent home?
No -- "Extra's" learned that, although Paltrow and
her husband, Coldplay's Chris Martin, just
purchased a $4.5 million Belsize Park home once owned by Kate
Winslet, the Oscar-winning actress will keep her residence
in New York.
They've been a permanent fixture on the Emmy red carpet for
eight years, covering the arrivals for E! Entertainment Television.
But are Joan and Melissa Rivers
really saying goodbye to the red carpet?
Yes -- since leaving E! for a $6 million deal with the TV Guide Channel, the mother-daughter team will be banned from this year's Emmy Awards. E! has the exclusive cable rights to broadcast live from the red carpet through 2005.
Kirstie Alley's weight has
been tabloid fodder for months. But will Alley have the last
laugh?
And how -- the plus-sized actress is producing and starring in Showtime's "Fat Actress," an unscripted comedy about an actress trying to lose weight, get a man and find a job. The six-episode show premieres in 2005.
