Johnny Depp
He stars as swashbuckling captain Jack Sparrow in this summer's big budget sea adventure "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl." But on Friday night, the reclusive Johnny Depp sits down with "20/20's" Elizabeth Vargas for a rare interview.
The actor talks about falling hard for French-born singer Vanessa Paradis, the mother of their two children. He says, "I see this back and this neck and I said, ‘Oh God, what's that?’ And suddenly the back turned to face me from 20 or 30 yards away and made eye contact… That was it."
Depp says family life with Vanessa even led him to flee Hollywood five years ago for a quieter life in France. He says, "Kiddies should grow up in a very simple, calm environment where everything is not about the next movie or success."
