Screening Room
"The Hard Word" was relatively easy work for Guy Pierce, the handsome hunk of "LA Confidential" and "Memento" fame. He is co-starring here with "Six Feet Under's" Rachel Griffiths.
"The Hard Word" was shot in Guy's native Australia with an all-Aussie cast.
In this dark comedy, Guy stars as one of three convicted bank robbers. But after his stint down under, Guy is glad to be back in Hollywood for the U.S. release of "The Hard Word." Guy says, "It's actually been really nice to come back and catch up with the people and remind myself that Hollywood still exists."
It's the movie that put Jim Carrey on the map. Now things just got dumberer, as in "Dumb and Dumberer," the prequel to the 1994 hit "Dumb and Dumber."
Newcomers Eric Christian Olsen and Derek Richardson tackle the roles with an eerie similarity. Eric says, "We watched the movie like 40 times or whatever trying to get the mannerisms."
Now they're waiting to hear from the originals. Eric says, "I can't wait for them to see it."
Jim, Jeff and the rest of you can check out "Dumb and Dumberer" this weekend.
