Adam Sandler
Adam Sandler makes $25 million a movie. But that's
just a drop in the bucket compared to the cash his new big-screen
character rakes in. Extra's got the scoop on his newest flick,
his thoughts on co-star Winona Ryder, and his latest love.
Adam Sandler goes from bumpkin to billionaire in his new movie "Mr. Deeds." And by his side: the embattled Winona Ryder. Extra sat down with Sandler, who says when he spoke to his co-star just last night, she admitted her shoplifting trial is tough. Says Sandler, "It's difficult for her - difficult for anybody to go through without it being on the news everyday."
But, despite her alleged misdeeds, Sandler says Ryder's spirits remain high. "She's never been through anything like this before. She's fine -- looking forward to it blowing over, and wishing she could just enjoy hanging out in New York. But, she's dealing with this."
"Mr. Deeds" is a remake of the 1936 classic "Mr. Deeds Goes to Town." Sandler reprises Gary Cooper's role, while Ryder plays his love interest, Babe Bennett. The star says she was drawn to the part because of the values it upholds. Says Ryder, "It's like we all have to go back to what we wanted to be as kids, and those ideals, and hold them up."
Sandler is at the pinnacle of his career. He's star and executive producer of "Mr. Deeds," with a paycheck of $25 million dollars.
Off-screen, he's engaged to longtime girlfriend model Jackie Titone. He says, "I got a girl. I'm in love with her. She told me she loved me back. That worked out nice."
"Mr. Deeds" hits theatres this month.
