Stella McCartney
Stella McCartney never slows down. She added Allure to Chloe, has aVH1 Vogue fashion award, and shines when stars like Madonna, Liv Tyler and Gwyneth Paltrow wear her designs.
Stella says, "I do really think that women appreciate the details that I give them in my clothes."
Just ask Jennifer Lopez, the new design maven. She says, "I was always such a huge fan of hers."
We caught up with the rock icon's designer daughter for a rare one-on-one interview in the Middle East at the gala grand opening of Villa Moda, a designer superstore in Kuwait City.
Sheik Majed Al-Sabah owns Villa Moda. He'll highlight Stella’s fashions here, but she was on hand to sell one-of-a-kind t-shirts to raise money for charity. She says, "It’s to help educate Islamic women."
Giving back is just the beginning. Now, she has her very own label with Gucci, which means more pressure and non-stop deadlines. She says, "It's a lot of work, it's exciting. We've developed my logo and now we have to do packaging. There’s just everything to do."
Domenico De Sole is the president of Gucci. He says Stella is on her way to fashion superstardom. He says, "She has a great natural instinct for the product. I think she's going to be a great success."
Her sweet, modest nature gives way to strong and sexy designs. She says, "I find it very intriguing why people choose to wear certain things each day or how it reflects their mood."
This designer is just getting started. Next up is a New York boutique. Stella says, "It's really exciting. It’s mad opening stores with your name on them."
Soon, she'll have her name on even more. Domenico says, "We'll be launching next a cosmetic line and a perfume line."
Looks like Stella has it all sewn up.
