Britney Spills Engagement Details
Just last week, Britney Spears confirmed that
she is, in fact, engaged to dancer Kevin Federline. Now, in
an exclusive interview with People Magazine, she's opening
up about the engagement, their future, and Kevin's ex's pregnancy.
According to People's Senior Editor, Jess Kagel,
the couple -- who he says, "are very much in love"
-- had a "mile-high engagement." It happened during
a flight back to the United States from Britney's European tour,
and it was Britney who actually popped the question.
"When she asked him to marry her, he said 'no,'" Kagel revealed to "Extra." "Then, after a couple of minutes, he turned around and said 'will you marry me?' and she said 'yes.'"
But it was definitely the girl who selected the rock a few weeks
later, when Britney got her engagement ring -- a stunning 5-karat
diamond set atop two slender platinum, diamond-encrusted bands.
"Every time she wakes up and looks at the ring, she says,
'Very cool,'" Kagel told us.
Britney has not yet met Kori, the 2-year-old daughter Federline
has with his ex, Shar Jackson, who is also pregnant with their
second child. When we spoke exclusively with "Extra,"
Jackson told us, "Kevin is gonna be a part of my kids'
lives, regardless; and if he's going to be with Britney, she
needs to understand that."
For Britney's part, Kagel confirmed that she's, "excited about becoming a step-mom."
And what about her own children? First off, Brtiney's not pregnant,
but she says she loves little ones and would like four or five
children with Kevin. For now, though, the only new addition
to the family is a dog named Lacey.
But the pop diva does have another new love. In addition to Kevin and Lacey, Spears has found happiness in cleaning. Yes, the superstar considers herself a regular Suzy homemaker.
So when will these two officially make a home? Well, that's just between the lovebirds.
For now, you can catch more on Britney and her engagement, including the first official photos of the couple and pictures of her ring, on Wednesday's edition of "Extra," and when People hits newsstands on Friday.
