Working Motherhood
She's Hollywood's hottest mom-to-be, but Julia
Roberts isn't just sitting back, awaiting the birth of her
twins -- she's busy working. Juila will bring her sexy "Ocean's
11" character back for "Ocean's 12," and will
"grow into" her role -- her real life pregnancy
will closely match the pregnancy of her character in the film.
People magazine's Jess Cagle gave us the scoop on Roberts' plans for when the babies arrive, starting with her plans to give birth in the Big Apple. "She's been in love with New York City," Cagle confirmed. "There's something down-to-earth about having a kid in New York."
Roberts will join other celebrity mommies who worked while pregnant. Catherine Zeta-Jones filmed "Traffic" while pregnant. And Gwyneth Paltrow, who was pregnant during the production of "Proof," used a simple philosophy: "Just take one day at a time."
But the blessed event is not always a blessing to movie making.
Madonna was in the middle of filming the musical "Evita"
when she learned she was pregnant. Luckily, the news came just
days after the actress had filmed the most demanding scenes
-- otherwise, it would have been impossible to finish the film.
"It was really hard at the end," Madonna admitted.
TV stars like Courtney Cox-Arquette and Debra Messing have also
worked motherhood into their busy schedule. But Andy Walenstein,
from The Hollywood Reporter, told us that covering an actress's
growing girth requires some creativity.
"With Debra Messing on 'Will & Grace,' she would be sitting strategically on a couch so you that you wouldn't be able to see how big she'd gotten," Walenstein revealed.
But whether it's a well-kept secret or very public, pregnancy in Hollywood is a booming production.
