'Potter' Stars Bring Back the Magic
Something wicked this way comes as Harry Potter
heads into his third year at Hogwarts, in "Harry Potter
and the Prisoner of Azkaban." We sat down with the film's
young stars to talk about magic and growing up onscreen.
Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the one and only
Harry, claims that, with a new director behind the third installment
of Warner Brothers' blockbuster series, "The Prisoner of
Azkaban" has a darker plot and a different feel from the
first two films.
"The characters have grown up," Radcliffe told us.
"I think it is darker and it is scarier, but I think at
the heart of this film, it's about kids becoming teenagers."
Like Radcliffe, co-stars Rupert Grint and Emma Watson have all
blossomed on the big screen. "I was 10 when I was filming
the first one and now I am 14," Watson revealed.
"I was 11, going on 12, and I'll be 16 in August,"
Grint added.
Daniel claims that all the real-life teen stuff helped with
his role: "It is a lot easier because basically I feel
all the same things as Harry, but not quite as strong, I think."
And it looks like strong feelings start stirring at Hogwarts
for Ron and Hermione this year, and Emma confirmed it: "There
were a few awkward moments with handholding and that."
But there's only one man for Emma, in real life. Back while
filming in London, she told us that, off screen, she has a serious
teen crush on Brad Pitt, claiming, "He is hard to beat."
And you can't beat wizards and witchcraft when "Harry Potter
and the Prisoner of Azkaban" hits the big screen on Friday.
