New Fall Lineups
It's spring cleaning for the networks. ABC is leading the charge, cutting new shows like “Philly” and old favorites like “Spin City,” “Dharma and Greg” and the primetime version of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?"
NBC only axed two newcomers, "Watching Ellie" and "Leap of Faith." NBC entertainment president Jeff Zucker says, “Virtually all your favorite programs are back in their familiar positions."
Zucker did unveil five new fall series and gave "Extra" a sneak peak. "American Dreams" is a family drama set in the early 60's, "Boomtown" is a gritty cop show set in Los Angeles, the producers of "Frasier" are making more "must-see TV" with "The In-Laws," and then there's the show that some believe will become the network's new "Friends," called “Hidden Hills." West coast president Scott Sassa has high hopes about this wild sexy look at suburban life. Also getting buzz is "Good Morning Miami," from the creators of "Will & Grace."
So which shows will make it? Sassa says it's not rocket science, saying, “You can overcomplicate it if you want to, but it's pretty simple: a good show will find an audience."
