Movieline Young Hollywood Awards
They're young, they're hot, and they're the superstars of tomorrow. Fresh faces Elijah Wood, Mila Kunis, and Mandy Moore were on parade for Movieline's Young Hollywood Awards. “Extra” was first on the red carpet for an exclusive look at the stars of tomorrow.
Rising stars Monet Mazur, Thora Birch, and Ali Landry joined Hollywood vets like Kevin Spacey, Christina Applegate, Billy Zane, and TV slayer Sarah Michelle Gellar.
WB TV prankster Jamie Kennedy hosted the show featuring awards with names like Hottest, Coolest, Young Veterans (Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood), Superstars of Tomorrow (Mandy Moore and Shane West), Next Generation Award (Selma Blair), and Standout Performance (Britney Murphy).
In between the laughs, there was time to recognize role models like Kevin Spacey, actress/philanthropist Thora Birch, and our own Leeza Gibbons had the honor of recognizing Christina Applegate, a tireless breast cancer crusader since her mother and manager survived the disease.
One lucky Movieline reader won a free Mustang from sponsor Ford Quality Checked. Speaking of wheels, skating god Tony Hawk told "Extra” that he's not sure he can live up to his Cultural Icon Award. He says, “That seems like a lot of responsibility."
All these young winners have a little added pressure now, but have plenty of time to live up to it.
