It Takes a Family -- of Stars
Kate Hudson was all smiles as she heard the big
"Idol" news about Fantasia. Kate was right across
the street from the where the "Idol" finale went
down in Hollywood, for the premiere of her new movie, "Raising
Helen."
And while Kate is busy "Raising Helen" on the big screen, back home it's all about raising baby Ryder. "I have a really hard time tearing myself away from him," she admitted to us.
So what has surprised Kate most about motherhood? "You never thought you can love something that much," she told us. "And you have a whole different relationship with your parents. It's pretty amazing."
Speaking of parents, the premiere was a family affair as Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell came out to support their golden girl. And the Hollywood couple is enjoying their new role as grandparents. "We live in the moment and right now the moment is awesome," Goldie said.
And while it was all in the family night for Kate, brother Oliver
broke some big news of his own -- he's engaged. Oliver's fiancée
is actress Erinn Bartlett, but Oliver told us that they haven't
set a date yet: "You need to be engaged. If you set a date,
then you spend your engagement planning a wedding, and that's
no fun."
But what is fun for Oliver is having a little nephew. "It kills me," he admitted. "Because I want one so bad."
Matt Perry also came to Kate's big night. He's taking care of
a little family business himself -- a new movie with his dad.
"It's called 'The Beginning of Wisdom.' Daryl Hannah is
in it, and Samantha Mathis. It's going to be great," Matthew
said.
We'll watch for it. In the meantime, catch Kate in "Raising
Helen," opening this Friday. |
