The Incredible Shrinking Bill
He's the former president who loved to feast on fast food, and Bill Clinton had a super-size waistline to prove it. But that was then. Today, the ex-president is sporting a slim new look almost 40 pounds lighter than he used to be.
Derek Rose, a reporter for the New York Daily
News, said Clinton is thrilled with his new lean physique. "Clinton
says he's actually the thinnest he's been since he was governor
of Arkansas. He says he's feeling great and actually requires
less sleep."
So what's behind the disappearance of the presidential pot belly? Well, Bill's given up beer, works out with a German trainer four times a week, and follows the South Beach Diet. Once a devotee of McDonalds, today you might find Bill dining on a South Beach meal at Crabtree's Kittle House in Chappaqua, New York. Owner John Crabtree is happy to accommodate. "We serve healthy, organic foods," he told us.
Florida doctor Arthur Agatston developed the best-selling South Beach weight loss program which focuses on cutting out bad carbs and bad fats like processed starches and sweets. He promises you can lose 7 to 13 pounds in the first two weeks. "It's simple, it's flexible and you don't need a lot of self control because it controls hunger," he insists.
But President Clinton still has an appetite for the spotlight. His autobiography, "My Life," is due out in June. And for more on Clinton's slim-down, watch Tuesday's edition of "Extra."
