Rumor Control: Close Calls
Here are the latest stories raising a buzz in Hollywood, and we've got the truth behind them.
Wednesday marked a big scare for one of the
world's richest entertainers -- Mary Kate Olsen
was involved in a frightening freeway accident. Were the paparazzi
the cause? "Extra's" learned that photographers were
tailing Mary Kate as she got onto a Los Angeles freeway, but
her people tell us that the rumors are not true.
Let's set the record straight -- here's what really happened: Mary Kate had to slam on her brakes because two lanes were blocked on the freeway. Her bodyguard, traveling behind her, could not react in time and rear-ended her Range Rover. Afterward, Mary Kate sipped a Diet Dr. Pepper to calm her nerves. Both cars were towed, but fortunately no one was hurt.
To see the exclusive pictures of Mary Kate's accident, tune in to Thursday's edition of "Extra."
Is Courteney Cox Arquette having twins? In
the "Friends" finale two weeks ago, Monica became
the mother of twins, and in real life, David Arquette's
brother, Alexis, has speculated that life may be imitating art.
We tried to contact Cox's camp, but all we know for now is that the mother-to-be is doing well and is due in a few weeks. Looks like this is a case of wait-and-see.
Are Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett
getting back together? In the past couple of weeks, the couple
has been spotted at a charity dinner, on the beach and Wednesday
night at a fancy Los Angeles restaurant -- but insiders tell
us that the pair is just friends.
Is Madonna going to be electrocuted on stage?
According to published reports, Madonna's upcoming "Reinvention"
tour will be her most controversial ever. There will be provocative
outfits, sexual themes, and yes, Madonna will reportedly strap
