The Reappearance of Roy
Las Vegas was buzzing, Tuesday, as one of its
favorite sons, illusionist Roy Horn, pulled off his greatest
trick yet, getting in front of the camera for the first time
and showed the world his amazing recovery.
Seeing Roy on TV, it's hard to believe it's
the same man who, just months ago, was nearly killed by a tiger
onstage. Yet there he was onscreen, smiling and joking, as he
and Siegfried faced the cameras together at New York City's
Radio City Music Hall in an NBC exclusive on "The Today
Show."
Roy looked and sounded like his old self -- the only differences being that he wore glasses and his hair was shorter. A scar from the attack was visible along his neck and he didn't move his left arm, but considering how close to death Horn was, his comeback can only be called a miracle.
Siegfried and Roy are out promoting "Father of the Pride," an animated series based on their legendary act, which will be a key addition to NBC's fall lineup. And while the world may be stunned by Roy's comeback, his partner is not. Just days after the terrible accident, Siegfried made a prediction that's proven to be true, saying, "The future is going to bright. I'm sure about that."
Learn more about Roy's miraculous recovery on Tuesday's edition of "Extra."
