And Baby Makes Three
The world got their first look at Gwyneth Paltrow, her husband Chris Martin and their new baby girl Apple, as the happy family took a stroll through the streets of London.
Gwyneth's first child is a big kid, weighing in at 9-pounds-11-ounces. People magazine Assistant Managing Editor Peter Castro tells us, "Gwyneth, the trooper that she is, endured a really long labor and came out all smiles."
As for the unusual name Apple, Castro reveals, "Some people think it's because Gwyneth is from New York so she named her after the Big Apple. Or maybe Apple is a symbol of wisdom. No one knows."
Apple is already a big hit in London, as crowds shouted their congratulations to the couple on the street. Chris Martin even had to resort to wearing a disguise to visit his wife in the hospital.
And from Jack Black in Cannes to Ellen DeGeneres in Los Angeles, Gwyneth’s celebrity friends are wishing her well. "Gwyneth, congrats on the baby," Black said. "Put the baby by the TV right now," DeGeneres told us. "Hello lil' baby. Goo goo, ga ga. They love that."
And in other baby news, Geena Davis also welcomed new Hollywood royalty into the world. The 47-year-old actress gave birth to twin boys, her second and third children. The boys are named Kian William and Kaiis Steven, and mom, dad, and babies are all doing well.
